Ahh I got one!
Ok, I have to say this is my favorite wordless scene between these two.
It’s so underrated to me, because without even having to say anything they both know. They know each other so well. She’s seen his scars, and he was with her when she put down Ed’s dead body. Both are survivors of domestic abuse, and they recognize it in each other.
When he reaches down to pick up the book and then looks at her, it seems as if he’s ashamed to have been caught with it. Him carrying the book says that he’s ready to confront his past and move forward, and acknowledging his past, or looking for help to get over it, isn’t something he’s ever done before. It would seem like a weakness to him.
Meanwhile she’s shocked to see it, since their abuse was something neither of them ever brought up unless someone/something prompted it. She’s proud of him, but she also knows that while she pretends to have moved past what happened to her, she’s nowhere near ready to really confront her demons in order to heal.
Anyway I love them both so much.
